Health & Safety:
Health & safety is at the forefront of every project we undertake. To retain our 100% safety record we make certain of full compliance with all health & safety directives and insist on these at all times. We carry out regular safety audits to ensure our operations are carried out to our safe systems of work, along with implementation of preventative measures and the exact wearing, fitting and use of PPE.
The company is fully committed to training and development of its staff, from director level down to site-based operatives. We implement a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) approved training plan on an annual basis, assessing the current position and our future needs, in order to make informed decisions regarding our training requirements.
In order to maintain our reputation as the region’s premier scaffolding company, we consider stability for our workforce important. Therefore we directly employ all of our labour force and operate a continual training program in conjunction with the CITB, ensuring that all our scaffold erectors achieve NVQ Level 2 accreditation. This maintains a premier standard of workmanship.
In 2009 PET Scaffolding achieved accreditation with the government’s Construction Health & Safety Scheme (CHAS)
P.E.T. have an appointed Safety Manager to both identify and develop a strategy of site based safety initiatives. This is done by carrying out weekly scaffold inspections on behalf of clients to auditing P.E.T’s site performance and reporting back to the Directors.
Supervisors and our Safety Manager carry out recorded, on site based “Toolbox Talks” at regular intervals and if a specific situation requires it, they will communicate directly to all operatives. In addition, our Supervisors carry out regular monthly “Site Safety Reports”.
We know that our clients prefer to deal with a professional scaffold company – a company that aims to put safety, quality and innovation alongside a competitive service.
